This design was developed for an infill lot just off Rugby Road, near the University of Virginia.

Construction included passive solar, lumber from sustainable forestry, recycled and recyclable materials, cutting edge insulation methods with extra thick walls, use of high efficiency windows, less invasive site preparation, and “water hardy” indigenous landscaping. This traditional looking house was designed to accommodate modern lifestyles with an open floor plan, and respond to a sloping site and neighborhood character.
